Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for the Shai Osudoku Constituency, Linda Ocloo, has issued an apology following comments in a widely shared video, where she implied that assignments to northern Ghana could be perceived as punitive.
In a statement, she clarified that her comments were an unintentional and did not represent her true views or the official policies and procedures that guide staff postings in the Public Service.

She further explained that she was responding to a media question about concerns that some technocrats, who are alleged to have approved development permits without following due process, are sometimes reassigned to nearby districts, a situation critics say may allow such practices to persist.
She explained that her comments were referring to situations in which some individuals are posted to locations far from their usual places of residence.
She added that her words unfortunately gave the impression that such transfers were meant as punishment.
“I deeply value the trust reposed in me and remain dedicated to serving the people of the Greater Accra Region with integrity, fairness, and accountability,” she added.
