The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Men’s Team made history by winning the Bronze medal at the 2025 ITF BNP Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers in Rabat, Morocco.

The team, which included Bernard Yawson and Daniel Laryea, secured the medal after a dominant 3-0 victory over Kenya in the final match.

The men’s event saw Morocco take the Gold medal, while Egypt earned Silver.

H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, the Ghana Ambassador to Morocco, attended the closing ceremony and congratulated the team for their outstanding achievement, applauding them for making Ghana proud.

The team also expressed their sincere thanks to the GTF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, who played a crucial role in fundraising with the support of generous individuals from the Volta Region and Donewell Insurance.

National Coordinator Henry Larbi took the opportunity to thank Bridget Nartey, Stacy Konadu Mensah, and Coach Philip Plange, who helped with the team’s two-week residential training at Sonrise SHS Tennis Court in Ho.

He also expressed gratitude to the International Tennis Federation for their travel grant to the Ghana Tennis Federation and to the GTF Board for their continued support.
