DCOP Lydia Donkor, Head of Security at the Ghana Football Association, has denied claims that Asante Kotoko supporter Nana Pooley was stabbed inside the stadium.
She clarified that the stabbing, which led to Pooley’s death, occurred outside the stadium during the ongoing game.
Donkor addressed concerns regarding the police’s handling of fan safety, stating that the stabbing did not happen within the stadium.
She emphasized the need to correct misinformation as people were unfairly blaming the police for allowing weapons into the venue.
Asante Kotoko has announced a vigil for the late Nana Pooley, set for Sunday, 9th February 2025.
