The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it has received financial clearance from the government to facilitate the payment of salaries for 6,249 teachers recruited in 2024.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyii, GES said the approval allows it to complete all necessary processes to ensure that the affected staff receive their outstanding salaries.

“The Ghana Education Service (GES) announces that financial clearance has been granted for the payment of salaries of the remaining six thousand two hundred and forty-nine (6,249) teachers recruited in 2024,” the statement read.

GES explained that the approval enables the Service to “complete all necessary processes to ensure the staff receive their salaries.”

The Service also assured that all the newly recruited teachers will be placed on the mechanised payroll in time for their November 2025 salary payments, even though the financial clearance expires on December 31, 2025.

“Although this financial clearance expires on 31st December, 2025, Management of GES will ensure that all staff are placed on the mechanised payroll in time for November 2025 payments,” the statement added.

Management of GES expressed appreciation to all staff for their patience and dedication, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring timely and accurate salary payments. “Management thanks all staff for their dedication and remains committed to facilitating timely and accurate salary payments,” the statement concluded.

The clearance is expected to provide significant relief to the remaining batch of 2024 recruits who had awaited confirmation on their placement and salary processing.
