Another fire incident has struck, this time at the Kwadaso Wood Market in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, just days after the devastating Kantamanto Market fire in Accra.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service were called to the scene to contain the blaze.
Although the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, initial reports suggest extensive damage to property at the wood market. According to Graphic Online, the emergency response team worked swiftly to bring the fire under control. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported. A resident, speaking anonymously, expressed concern over the frequency of market fires, calling for “urgent measures to improve safety protocols.”
The Kwadaso incident adds to a growing list of market fires across the country, raising questions about fire safety standards in commercial spaces. Authorities are yet to determine the cause and extent of damage as investigations continue.
