As the NPP prepares for its national delegates conference and internal elections to choose new national executives following the party’s loss in the 2024 general election, spokesperson for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
In a video posted on X on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Aboagye stated that his decision was aimed at helping to strengthen the party’s communication machinery and prepare it for future electoral contests.
He explained that he hopes to contribute to reshaping the NPP’s communication strategy and improving the way the party’s policies, values and vision are conveyed to the Ghanaian public.
The National Communications Director is a key national executive position within the party and is responsible for overseeing media relations, public messaging and the overall communication strategy of the NPP.
Aboagye has served in several political and communication-related capacities within the party.
Aside from being the spokesperson for Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, he also previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North.
