The committee carrying out an investigation into the chaos during the vetting of ministerial nominees is set to hold public hearing on Wednesday, February 5 2025.
The committee, set up by the Speaker Alban Bagbin, seeks to unearth the events leading to the disruption on January 30, which resulted in a clash between the Minority and Majority over the vetting timing and the destruction of equipment.
The committee, chaired by Ho West MP Emmanuel Bedzrah, includes members Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng.
It has been given a 10-day deadline to report its findings and recommendations.
Speaker Bagbin stressed the need for maintaining order in Parliament and emphasized that the hearings are vital to restoring public trust and ensuring parliamentary effectiveness.
