Bibiani GoldStars CEO, Akwasi Adu, has revealed that the club’s primary objective for their maiden CAF Champions League appearance is to reach the lucrative “money zone” of the competition.

The Miners earned a historic spot in Africa’s premier club tournament after emerging as champions of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, marking a significant milestone for the club based in the Western North Region.

Speaking in an interview, Akwasi Adu emphasized the club’s ambitions and preparation strategy ahead of their continental debut.

“We have started talking to teams that have participated in the CAF Champions League to share their experience with us,” Adu said.

“We have had enough information on what we have to do and will do exactly that.”

Ghanaian clubs in recent years have found it challenging to progress into the group stages of the Champions League, commonly referred to as the “money zone,” where clubs begin to earn significant financial rewards.

Adu believes that learning from the experiences of more seasoned clubs will give GoldStars a competitive edge.

“As a team, we have our target, and that is to play in the money zone,” he continued. “We know it will not come easily, but we will do proper recruitment to ensure that we achieve our aim.”

To fine-tune their squad and match readiness, Bibiani GoldStars are scheduled to face FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko in the Champion of Champions clash on August 31. The match will serve as a major test of their preparedness ahead of the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

With their eyes firmly set on making history, Bibiani GoldStars are gearing up to not only represent Ghana on the continental stage but to also make a meaningful impact in their debut campaign.
