The Phoenix Suns kicked off their NBA season with a dramatic 116-113 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Clippers, led by Kevin Durant’s 25 points and Bradley Beal’s 24.
In a tense finish, Durant tied the game at 103-103 with less than 30 seconds left in regulation, just as James Harden’s buzzer-beater attempt for the Clippers fell short.
In overtime, Beal pushed the Suns ahead 114-110 with two crucial free throws with 1:20 remaining.
Harden had a chance to equalize but missed his second free throw with five seconds left, while Jusuf Nurkic secured the win with two free throws at the other end.
Harden finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Ivica Zubac added 21 points for the Clippers.
The Suns will continue their California trip with a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, while the Clippers will face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
