The Electoral Commission has confirmed the arrest of a ballot issuer at the Temporary Booth Bayiri Polling Station in the Techiman South District, Bono East Region.
The incident reportedly occurred at a polling station located near the head office of the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party.
According to a press release signed by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations, the ballot issuer, identified as Joseph Dery, was apprehended after issuing 15 ballot papers to voters under suspicious circumstances.
The Electoral Commission has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring electoral integrity. It emphasized that all election officials found violating electoral laws or procedures will face prosecution, reiterating that it will not shield anyone involved in misconduct during the elections.
