Ghana-made luxury timepiece brand Warrior King Watches has presented a custom-designed watch to the veteran highlife musician Agya Koo Nimo to mark his 95th birthday.
The presentation, led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr.Patrick Amofah, formed part of a tribute celebrating the life, music and cultural legacy of one of Ghana’s most influential artists.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Amofah described the moment as deeply personal, saying Agya Koo Nimo’s music had played a significant role in shaping his values and outlook on life.
“Agya Koo Nimo is my all-time favourite musician. His music shaped my life, my mindset, and my understanding of how to live with purpose and contribute to nation building,” he said.
He added that the musician’s philosophy had influenced how he viewed work, people, culture and heritage.
“In many ways, his music raised me long before I ever met him,” Mr Amofah noted.
According to him, the presentation of the custom-made watch went beyond ceremony, serving as an expression of gratitude and respect.
“This presentation was personal. We did not take it lightly. It was emotional to stand before a man I hold in the highest esteem and say thank you in the language I know best – time,” he said.
The timepiece itself is designed to reflect authority, heritage and legacy. It features a deep black dial set within a polished gold-tone case, creating a bold visual contrast.
The dial is adorned with Adinkra-inspired symbols and cultural insignia, representing values such as strength, wisdom, resilience and heritage. The design prioritises symbolism and identity, positioning the watch as a narrative object rather than a minimalist accessory.
The inscription “WARRIOR KING” appears on the right side of the dial, reinforcing themes of leadership and courage, while a vertical engraving of “AGYA KOO NIMO” on the left serves as a mark of reverence and tribute.
Gold-toned hands, sharp and angular in form, enhance clarity while contributing to the watch’s regal aesthetic. Subtle minute markers allow the cultural symbols to remain the focal point of the design.
The watch is completed with a black leather strap, balancing luxury with durability and giving it a ceremonial yet wearable character.
Warrior King Watches described the gesture as more than a gift, calling it a tribute to 95 years of legacy preserved in time.
In a statement, the brand said the presentation symbolised respect for craftsmanship, culture and the enduring power of music to shape generations, while honouring Agya Koo Nimo’s immense contribution to Ghana’s musical and cultural heritage.
