I was just acting  – Lil Win says as he addresses Martha Ankomah’s lawsuit

Popular Ghanaian actor and producer, Lil Win, born Kwadwo Nkansah, has addressed the legal proceedings initiated by colleague actress, Martha Ankomah, emphasizing that his actions were purely within the realm of performance.

 

It will be recalled that Martha took legal action against Lil Win, alleging defamation and seeking redress for damages. In a writ of summons filed on February 14, 2024, she claimed that the statement made by Lil Win had caused harm to her reputation and the brand, GTP.

Martha Ankomah is insisting that Lil Win falsely accused her of expressing disdain towards Kumawood actors, by refusing to collaborate with Kumawood actors due to their perceived lack of quality storylines.

Lil Win responded and criticised Martha Ankomah for her statement.
Lil Win responds that Martha Ankomah considers as defamatory and has instituted legal action.

However, speaking in a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, the renowned actor who doubles as a movie producer clarified that the incident in question was part of a scripted act and not reflective of any personal vendetta against Ankomah. He underscored the nature of his profession, where the line between reality and fiction can sometimes blur.

The video I did is a movie. I was acting… I was not angry. I had done some makeup,” he explained, indicating his intent to leave the resolution of the issue to legal professionals. He also touched on the need for unity and collaboration among industry stakeholders.
Looking into the future, Lil Win is hoping to break international boundaries.
