President John Dramani Mahama has used his appearance at the Nasdaq Stock Market in New York to project Ghana’s investment opportunities to the international business community.

The President rang the closing bell of Nasdaq on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in a symbolic ceremony that formed part of his engagements in the United States.

Ghana also took centre stage on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square, where the message “Ghana Is Open for Business” was displayed.

The President said the event was an important opportunity to draw attention to the economic partnership between Ghana and the United States and explore areas where businesses from both countries can expand cooperation.

Addressing the U.S.–Ghana Presidential Roundtable, President Mahama noted that the discussions were taking place on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.

He said the gathering offered Ghana and the United States an avenue to engage directly on investment, business partnerships and ways of strengthening economic ties.

President Mahama also pointed to measures being implemented by his government to rebuild the economy.

He said Ghana was working to consolidate macroeconomic stability, improve the management of public finances and restore confidence among investors.

The President expressed optimism that stronger cooperation with the United States and increased private-sector investment could contribute to Ghana’s broader economic growth agenda.
