Swiatek wins Wimbledon with 6-0, 6-0 rout of Anisimova

This was only the third double bagel in a women’s Grand Slam final. Not since Steffi Graf in 1988 had a final ended so decisively. Swiatek joins elite company with six major titles, becoming the first active WTA player to win on hard, clay, and grass.

Iga Swiatek stormed to her first Wimbledon crown with a ruthless 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Amanda Anisimova in just 57 minutes, the most one-sided women’s final in over three decades.

It was one-way traffic from the first ball. Swiatek showed no nerves on Centre Court as she raced through the first set in 22 minutes. Her aggressive returns and pinpoint movement left Anisimova dazed and searching for answers.

This was only the third double bagel in a women’s Grand Slam final. Not since Steffi Graf in 1988 had a final ended so decisively. Swiatek joins elite company with six major titles, becoming the first active WTA player to win on hard, clay, and grass.

The Polish star needed just 10 winners to secure victory. She capitalized on Anisimova’s 28 unforced errors and shaky serve. Swiatek controlled the match tempo and gave the American no time to settle.

Anisimova looked overwhelmed by the occasion. Her serve broke down under the pressure. She won just nine points in the first set and struggled to land her signature backhand.

Swiatek’s dominance was clear, but her humility shone through. “I didn’t even dream of this because it seemed so far away,” she said. “I want to thank my team for believing in me more than I did.”

Anisimova fought back tears in her post-match speech. “I wish I could have put on a better performance for you today,” she said. “But I’m going to keep working and hope to be back here.”

Swiatek’s win also marked her 100th match victory at a major, achieved in just 120 Grand Slam matches. Only Serena Williams reached that milestone faster in the Open Era.

Despite a tough year marked by a title drought and a brief doping suspension, Swiatek has returned to her best. This Wimbledon win may be her most complete performance yet
