Stephen Curry etched his name deeper into NBA history, becoming the 26th player to reach 25,000 career points. The Golden State Warriors star hit the milestone in the third quarter of a hard-fought 115-110 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Curry’s landmark moment came at the 8:32 mark of the third, draining a signature three-pointer before receiving a warm ovation from the Chase Center crowd during a timeout. He finished the night with 32 points, converting all 12 free throws and battling through a tough shooting performance to lead the Warriors to another crucial win. Curry scored his first career point on his NBA debut back in October 28, 2009 vs. Houston Rockets with a 19-foot jumper.

The game had all the drama expected from a Warriors contest, with Draymond Green stepping up in crunch time. Green drilled the go-ahead three-pointer with just 35 seconds remaining and later made sure Curry left with the game ball, a fitting tribute to his long-time teammate.

Even on a night when his shot wasn’t falling and going just 8-for-22 from the field, Curry’s ability to adapt was on full display. “It feels like 25,000 threes, actually,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr joked. “Even when his shot isn’t there, he finds a way to be brilliant.”

With 25,017 points now to his name, Curry’s next milestone looms large. He sits just seven three-pointers away from becoming the first player in NBA history to hit 4,000 a record that, like so many before, seems destined to be his.
