The Denver Nuggets have locked down another key player, agreeing to a four-year, $133 million contract extension with power forward Aaron Gordon. This move solidifies Gordon’s position alongside Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr. as the Nuggets build on their 2022-23 NBA championship win.
Gordon, entering his 11th NBA season, brings consistency and reliability to the Nuggets. Last season, he averaged 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds, mirroring his career averages of 13.5 and 6.3. Coach Michael Malone has witnessed Gordon’s growth since his arrival in Denver in 2021.
The Nuggets have secured their core players for the long haul:
• Nikola Jokic (signed through 2026-27 with a 2027-28 player option)
• Jamal Murray (four-year, $208 million maximum contract extension)
• Michael Porter Jr. (signed through 2026-27)
• Aaron Gordon (four-year, $133 million contract extension)
Gordon will wear jersey number 32 this season to honor his late brother, Drew, who passed away in an auto accident in Oregon. Gordon praised the team’s support during this difficult time, saying, “These guys have been there for me every step of the way… They’ve really developed into people that I would call my brothers.”
The Nuggets begin their season at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
