Man City agree record £1bn kit deal with Puma

The agreement, worth £100 million per season, represents a major upgrade from their previous £65 million-a-year deal signed in 2019. It now surpasses Manchester United’s £900 million contract with adidas to become the most valuable in Premier League history.

Manchester City have extended their partnership with Puma in a landmark £1 billion deal that will run until 2035, setting a new standard for kit manufacturer contracts in English football.

The agreement, worth £100 million per season, represents a major upgrade from their previous £65 million-a-year deal signed in 2019. It now surpasses Manchester United’s £900 million contract with adidas to become the most valuable in Premier League history.

City first joined forces with Puma six years ago, and the brand now partners with several clubs under the City Football Group umbrella, including Girona, Melbourne City, Mumbai City, and Palermo.

“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations,” said CFG CEO Ferran Soriano. “We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.”

The collaboration has grown beyond the pitch. Puma have played a central role in City’s global branding, community outreach, and lifestyle marketing. Their influence has helped push City’s identity into new markets worldwide.

The renewal comes at a time when City are navigating a rare competitive setback. Pep Guardiola’s side were eliminated in the round of 16 at the Club World Cup by Saudi club Al Hilal.

City will return to action on August 9 in a pre-season friendly against Palermo, another CFG club. The match is expected to help the first team regroup ahead of a demanding new campaign.

In further club news, Kolo Touré has joined City’s backroom staff permanently. He was part of Guardiola’s coaching group during the Club World Cup and will now play a full-time role at the Etihad.
