Asante Kotoko have named a 25-man squad for their high-profile pre-season clash against Kaizer Chiefs in the 2025 Toyota Cup, set for July 26 in South Africa.

The Porcupine Warriors confirmed their travelling party on Tuesday, just days after announcing Samba “O’Neil” Gilbani as the club’s new captain. The Congolese defender will lead the team under new permanent head coach Abdul Karim Zito.

Kotoko’s squad features a mix of youth and experience. Notable names include goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, Peter Amidu Acquah, Emmanuel Antwi, and Kwame Opoku. New signings Zackaria Fuseini, Joseph Amoah, and Lord Hilary Adabo have also made the trip.

The Toyota Cup fixture serves as a key part of Kotoko’s preparation for the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup. Zito, whose interim role was upgraded to a two-year deal, will use the game to test his team’s readiness. The match also offers an early glimpse of how Kotoko’s rebuild is shaping up.

Facing South African giants Kaizer Chiefs is no small task. The match promises to be a tough test for the Ghanaian side, especially against a team known for its physicality and quick transitions.
