GPL Week 3 Review: Asante Kotoko held, Nations FC stun Aduana FC as Hearts of Oak record win

The Ghana Premier League’s third matchweek delivered thrilling encounters, shocking results, and standout performances.

Emmanuel Kyei Baffour’s 88th-minute equalizer earned Vision FC a 1-1 draw against Legon Cities.

Asante Kotoko SC were held to a 1-1 draw by Young Apostles FC at the Len Clay Stadium. Daniel Lomotey’s 51st-minute strike put the visitors ahead, but Emmanuel Antwi equalized in the 76th minute.

Nations FC secured a stunning 2-1 victory at Aduana FC’s Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. Nafiu Sulemana scored in the 26th minute, Kelvin Obeng equalized in the 75th minute, and Faisal Charwetey sealed the win with an 89th-minute strike.

Frank Amankwah’s 73rd-minute goal gave GoldStars FC a 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars, maintaining their perfect start to the season.

Karela United FC and Accra Lions drew 1-1 at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex. Najeeb Fuseini scored in the 29th minute, but Ezekiel Alladoh equalized in injury time.

Hearts of Oak defeated Bechem United 2-0, with goals from Ransford Mensah and Hamza Issah. The win meant that the Phobians get rewarded with their first three points of the campaign after conceding two defeats against Basake Holy Stars (1-0) on match day one and Heart of Lions (2-0) on match day two.
