One of Ghana’s rising boxing stars, John Laryea, made a stunning international debut in the United States, defeating Nicaragua’s Alexander Mejia via unanimous decision at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Florida.

The 22-year-old WBO African featherweight champion’s impressive victory keeps his undefeated record intact, with 15 wins and one draw.

Laryea, known as “The Expensive Boxer,” dominated the eight-round contest from the outset, knocking down Mejia in the first round. The Ghanaian’s lightning-quick jabs and precise punches left his Nicaraguan opponent struggling to find a response.
