Ghanaian boxer Elvis Ahorgah, popularly known as “The Soldier”, endured a tough points defeat against British contender Tyler Denny in a 10-round middleweight bout on Easter Sunday.
The fight, part of the undercard to Ben Whittaker’s rematch with Liam Cameron, ended with Denny winning by a 97-92 decision.
Ahorgah, 24, showed noticeable improvement and heart, bouncing back from an earlier loss to Callum Simpson in February.
He landed some clean shots, including a powerful right hand in the third round, but a controversial knockdown and Denny’s sharper combinations tipped the judges’ scorecards in the Brit’s favor.
Despite back-to-back losses, Ahorgah’s spirited display has earned him admiration among fans and pundits.
Drawing from his military family background, “The Soldier” continues to fight with grit and determination, promising a strong return in future bouts.
