Cristiano Ronaldo marries Georgina Rodríguez in Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has added a new chapter to his remarkable story. The Portugal and Al Nassr superstar has married his long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.

The couple tied the knot on August 11, with their five children present for the special moment. Ronaldo shared a picture of their hands wearing wedding rings, while Portuguese media described it as the wedding of the year.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together since 2016. They first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working while Ronaldo was starring for Real Madrid.

Their relationship has grown alongside one of football’s most remarkable careers. Ronaldo has scored nearly 1,000 goals for Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal.

The couple announced their engagement on August 11 last year. Rodríguez shared a picture of her ring and wrote, “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Now, one year later, the promise has become official. The timing also comes just four days before Ronaldo and Al Nassr begin their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign.

At 41, Ronaldo remains one of football’s biggest names. He recently appeared at his sixth World Cup, sharing the record for the most men’s World Cup appearances with Argentina legend Lionel Messi.

His international future is less certain. After the tournament, Ronaldo confirmed it was his final World Cup but refused to make a quick decision on whether he would retire from Portugal duty.

“I won’t be making any rash decisions,” he said. “I played 23 years in the national team and won three titles.”

For now, however, football can wait. Ronaldo has spent much of his life chasing records, trophies and history.

In Cascais, the focus was different. This time, the biggest moment was not a goal, a trophy or another record, but saying “I do” to the person who has shared his journey.
