Head Coach Otto Addo has named the squad for our upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and Central African Republic.
Prior to the call up, there were speculations that Coach Otto Addo has communicated to some senior players that they would not be invited for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and Central Republic.
The report reveals that Addo intends to phase out reliance on older players and focus on nurturing the younger talents within the team.
However, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ibrahim Sulemana have been added to the squad, with Sulemana having a solid record with 21 appearances. The team seems to be a mix of new faces and familiar ones.
In goalkeeping department, Kotoko’s Federico Asare will be going Joseph Wollacott and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Ghana are in 4th place with three points behind group leaders Comoros after two matches.
Thomas Partey is expected to captain the side in the absence of Andre Ayew.
The team will face Mali on June 6, 2024, at Bamako’s Stade 26 Mars, followed by a home game against Central African Republic on June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
