Amanda Anisimova’s North American summer is heating up fast. The Wimbledon runner-up powered past Emma Raducanu with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win to book her place in the fourth round of the Omnium Banque Nationale in Montreal.

The fifth-seeded American took control from the start under the lights. She broke Raducanu in the opening game and never looked back. By the time the first set ended, Anisimova had broken twice and wrapped it up 6-2 in just over 30 minutes.

Raducanu, still searching for consistency after her US Open breakthrough in 2021, had no answers. Anisimova unleashed her full arsenal, deep groundstrokes, smart angles, and relentless pressure. She reeled off five straight games to start the second set, smothering the Brit’s rhythm.

Raducanu finally got on the board with a hold at 5-1, but it was far too late. Anisimova served it out without fuss, sealing the win in just over an hour. The numbers told the story: 29 winners to Raducanu’s 5, and a staggering contrast in control.

The victory marked Anisimova’s 50th career win at WTA-1000 events. She joins an elite list of nine American women to hit that milestone since 2009. She’s now won 14 of her last 17 matches since the start of the grass-court season, more than any other player in that span.

This was also her 29th consecutive win after taking the first set, a stat that highlights her ruthless ability to finish strong. The last time she lost after winning the opener was back in January.

Anisimova will now face 10th seed Elina Svitolina, who crushed Anna Kalinskaya 6-1, 6-1. That match promises to be a blockbuster, with both players hitting peak form at the perfect time.
