The draw for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) took place on Wednesday, January 15, at the renowned Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The group also includes Sudan and Congo, setting the stage for some thrilling encounters.

Group A features host nation Kenya alongside North African heavyweights Morocco. The two will contend with Zambia, DR Congo, and Angola in a fiercely competitive lineup.

In Group B, joint hosts Tanzania are grouped with Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, promising a tightly contested battle for progression.

Group C sees Uganda, another co-host, pitted against Niger and Guinea, with two more teams expected to join the group after the final round of qualifiers.

Defending champions Senegal find themselves in a competitive Group D, where they will face off against Nigeria, one of Africa’s football giants.

The 2024 CHAN, originally slated for February 2025, has now been rescheduled to August 2025 due to infrastructure delays, according to CAF.

With the draw complete, participating nations must intensify their preparations to compete for the prestigious title.
