Some residents of Kalpohin Electoral Area in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region say they expect their newly elected assemblyman to adopt a robust strategic approach to tackle development in the area.
According to them, the Kalpohin Electoral Area lacks development and jobs so strong strategic lobbying, influence, and protocols by the newly elected assemblyman will help to transform and bring the needed development.
According to them, their expectations of him are to focus on youth unemployment, women empowerment, and the sanitation situation in the area.
“Our expectation of him is that we want him to support the youth, both women and men those who don’t have jobs; the little power he has even though we know he can’t employ but the links that he has, the protocols he can explore these strategies. We also want him to tackle sanitation and open defecation” they said.
Tia Dokurugu is a resident and he said that even though there were already footprints of the assemblyman before his election and urged him to continue to do more.
“Before the elections, he went around and cleared choked gutters, cleared refuse dams at public toilets, he supported some women who were sitting idle, those with petty businesses also approached him and he supported them with the little he can. This is a mark of a good leader and someone who can bring development to his people” he said.
Another resident Yakubu Adams said Arrow has passion for the youth and his election as an assemblyman will play a pivotal role in empowering the youth in the area. He however urged community members to exercise patience and allow the assemblyman some time to settle and kick-start his work.
“Arrow do more about us so we no go talk about Arrow now people should just give him some time he will take us from one step to the another and his love for the youth is unmatched,” he said.
