The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo), has announced that parts of the country will experience power supply challenges during peak periods.
The operators of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) in a press statement issued on Thursday, October 26, explained that the outages are imminent due to limited gas supply to Tema, resulting in a supply gap of 550MW at peak time.
Excerpts of their statement read “This will affect power supply to consumers in some parts of the country. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted”.
Meanwhile the company did not indicate the expected duration of the power shortage.
