Senegal started their title defence with a fantastic 3-0 victory over Gambia in Ivory Coast.
The showpiece was an entertaining and competitive fixture with lots of intensity and excitement especially from the Senegalese fans.
Pape Gueye scored an early goal in the fourth minute setting the tone for Senegal’s dominance throughout the match.
Despite Gambia’s efforts, they could not contain the talented Senegal team.
Gambia’s challenges increased when Ibrahima Cisse received a red card just before half time.
In the second half, Senegal continued their strong performance, with Lamine Camara scoring in the 52nd and 86th minute to secure a well-deserved victory.
With this win, Senegal now leads Group C with three points, while Gambia slips to the bottom of the table.
