AFCON 2023 group stages draw to take place today as Ghana awaits for their opponents

Today October 12, 2023, as the draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) takes place in the exciting city of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, the anticipation among the African football community is high.

The Black Stars will find out who their group stage opponents are at the draw ceremony, which is taking place at the Parc Des Expositions d’Abidjan. This ceremony is a crucial one before the much-awaited tournament.

This period is crucial for Ghana, a country with a long history of football, as they work to win the upcoming AFCON.

With four coveted championship victories, the most recent coming in 1982, Ghana has a long and distinguished history in the AFCON tournament.

The 34th edition is slated to run from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Cote d’Ivoire.

Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Congo DR, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Zambia are the countries that have qualified for the final draw.

African Football Legends like Didier Drobga, Mikel Obi and Solomon Kalu are expected to be present at the occasion.

The time for the program to commence is 19h00 local time (19h00 GMT, 22h00 Cairo/East Africa time.
