Former US President Donald Trump will be sworn in today as the 47th president of the United States.
The inauguration will take place indoors due to dangerously cold temperatures projected in the nation’s capital. It will likely be the coldest Inauguration Day since 1985. Trump is expected to be sworn in at the Capitol Rotunda by Chief Justice John Roberts.
The guest list includes political leaders, former presidents and influential billionaires, including Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. Country music star Carrie Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful.”
The president-elect is expected to quickly implement executive actions on immigration, energy policy and federal government operations to check off dozens of campaign policy priorities. Trump has pledged to issue “close to 100” executive orders on his first day. He also plans to pardon some January 6 rioters on Day 1
