The Ghana Police Service has commenced a formal investigation into a viral TikTok video in which an individual is heard making threatening remarks against President John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady.
In a statement issued by the Police, the video — which has gained widespread attention on social media — contains statements considered to pose a threat to the lives of the President and his spouse.
As part of the probe, two individuals — Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu — have been arrested and are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Authorities say efforts are underway to track down and apprehend others believed to be involved in the creation and circulation of the video.
The Police emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the President and all citizens, and urged the public to refrain from actions or commentary that could incite violence or threaten national stability.
