The People’s National Party (PNP) has launched a nationwide fundraising campaign aimed at raising GHC2 million to support its operational and logistical needs, including settling outstanding rent for its regional and district offices.
The initiative was approved at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Sunday, July 21, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence and position it as a viable alternative to Ghana’s two main political parties.
In a statement signed by Sulemana Seidu, the party’s General Secretary, the PNP disclosed that the funds will primarily be used to pay rent for 174 district and 16 regional offices across the country. These offices are essential not only for local mobilisation but also for meeting legal requirements set by the Electoral Commission regarding the physical presence of registered political parties.
“Beyond rent obligations, we aim to purchase a reliable vehicle for national constituency tours and address other key logistical needs,” the statement said.
To climax the campaign, the party will host a Grand Fundraising Dinner on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Best Western Hotel in Accra. The event is expected to attract party faithful, private donors, and well-wishers committed to supporting democratic diversity in Ghana.
Reaffirming its political mission, the PNP stated:
“The PNP remains committed to reviving Ghana’s multiparty democracy and breaking the cycle of two-party domination. We are building a stronger, law-abiding, and people-centric alternative.”
The party has called on Ghanaians to contribute voluntarily through donations, sponsorships, and active participation in its fundraising activities, as it works to achieve its GHC2 million target.
The campaign is being framed as a critical step toward restoring credibility, hope, and true democratic representation within Ghana’s political system.
