Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has announced a major government initiative aimed at shaping a practical and inclusive national agribusiness policy through stakeholder engagement.

The Minister revealed that the Ministry is collaborating with Agri-Impact, a leading agribusiness consultancy, to host the upcoming National Agribusiness Dialogue.

“We are partnering with Agri-Impact, and they are big players in the agribusiness consultancy space. We’re working with them to bring together all stakeholders in the agribusiness industry for the dialogue,” she stated.

The event, scheduled for Monday, July 28, at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, will bring together actors across the agricultural value chain to contribute directly to the policy-making process. According to the Minister, this bottom-up approach will ensure that the resulting policy is both relevant and implementable.

“This dialogue is to get a policy that reflects the needs of the people. We want the policy to come from within so that it solves a real problem. The whole idea is that once they contribute, they will own it. And if they do, implementation will be easier,” she emphasized.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour.

The initiative reflects the government’s renewed commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth in the agribusiness sector by ensuring that policies are shaped by those most affected — the farmers, processors, and other key players in the industry.
