President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned the Flowerpot Interchange in Accra.
This initiative aims at reducing traffic congestions at the Flowerpot Intersection along the Spintex road, while improving the quality of life of commuters travelling from the North and South of the Accra Tema-motorway.
Speaking during the commission ceremony, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transforming Ghana through well-planned infrastructure.
“It is with considerable pride and singular honour that I declare the Flower Pot Interchange duly commissioned. This moment is not merely about the opening of a new piece of infrastructure; it is about unveiling a vision for Ghana’s future, one driven by lasting progress, inclusivity, and national pride,” the President noted.
The President called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the National Roads Authority, traditional leaders and the general public to support in safeguarding the Flowerpot Interchange.
“I call on the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the National Roads Authority, traditional rulers, commuters and the general public to join hands in safeguarding this asset, ensuring that it serves its purpose for the long term” he noted.
The Flower Pot Interchange encompasses an 802-meter dual carriageway viaduct with asphaltic concrete surfacing, a 140-meter ramp from Shiashie onto the viaduct towards Airport Hills, and an 80-meter ramp connecting the viaduct to the Motorway towards Tema. This initiative is believed to improve the lives of residents and commuters within the enclave.
