President John Dramani Mahama will from March 18 begin a nationwide tour to inspect ongoing government projects and evaluate their progress.
The initiative, known as the “Resetting Ghana Tour,” is intended to strengthen engagement between government and citizens, while providing updates on key policies and development programmes.
The exercise will commence in the Bono Region, with the President expected to be joined by regional ministers, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Speaking during a visit by Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to the Office of Government Communications, the Minister of Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the tour will enable the President to directly assess projects on the ground.
“The President believes it is not enough for ministers to brief the nation from the presidency. He is stepping out to lead the ‘Resetting the Ghana Project’, starting from the Bono Region tomorrow, all things being equal,” he said.
He added that the exercise will involve several ministers, regional officials, district chief executives and other local leaders who will accompany the President to project sites and community engagements.
“This is a nationwide exercise where he will be joined by several ministers, regional officials, district chief executives, and other local leaders to tour project sites, engage with opinion leaders, chiefs, and influential community stakeholders,” he stated.
According to the Minister, the tour will offer government a practical opportunity to assess progress, identify challenges and deepen interaction with citizens across the country.
