Mahama swears In Chief Fire Officer, Immigration Comptroller-General

President John Dramani Mahama has sworn into office Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as the substantive Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and Samuel Basintale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Presidency, formally ushered the two officials into their respective roles to lead the country’s fire and immigration services.

As Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Ntow Sarpong is expected to oversee fire prevention, public safety education, and emergency response operations across the country.

As Comptroller-General, Samuel Basintale Amadu will be responsible for border management, migration control, and the enforcement of immigration laws.

President Mahama charged the newly sworn-in officials to discharge their duties with professionalism, integrity, and dedication to national service, emphasising the critical roles their institutions play in national security and public safety.

Daniella Ntow Sarpong was appointed on March 24, 2025, becoming the first woman to hold the position of Chief Fire Officer. Prior to her appointment, she served as Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Director of Fire Safety, where she was noted for her dedication and leadership.

Samuel Basintale Amadu was also appointed in March 2025 and has since been tasked with steering the Ghana Immigration Service in strengthening border security and migration management.
