Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been honored as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the 2024 season.
This marks his first time winning the prestigious award, surpassing last year’s MVP, Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.
The At 27 years old, Allen has been a standout quarterback since being drafted as the seventh overall pick in 2018.
Though he had been a finalist for the MVP award twice before, finishing as runner-up in 2020 and 2022, this is his first time taking home the title.
Allen expressed his gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I feel like my teammates wanted this more for me than I did. I’m very honored.” The award comes as no surprise to many, as Allen had been the favorite to win, with Jackson, who earned MVP honors for the second time last season, being his closest competitor.
This season, Allen proved himself a true dual-threat quarterback, throwing 28 touchdown passes and adding 12 rushing touchdowns.
His performance reached historic heights, as he became the first quarterback to score multiple rushing and passing touchdowns in consecutive games.
Additionally, Allen made history as the first player to claim passing, rushing, and receiving touchdowns in the same game.
A key factor in Allen’s success has been his growth as a leader on and off the field.
He significantly improved his ball protection, registering career-low figures for interceptions, sacks, and fumbles. His more disciplined approach helped lead the Bills to an impressive 13-4 record and a sixth consecutive playoff appearance.

For the fourth time in five years, Buffalo was eliminated by the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, with Kansas City advancing to Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
