Kelvin Aboagye, the General Manager of Elmina Sharks, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly attacking a referee following a Division One League match against Swedru All Blacks.
The incident occurred on February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina, Central Region, shortly after the final whistle.
According to police reports, Aboagye, along with others, assaulted the referee and some supporters.
He is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while authorities continue efforts to identify and apprehend the other individuals involved.
In the meantime, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Elmina Sharks with misconduct.
Additionally, player Jay Asamoah is facing disciplinary action after a viral video showed him punching referee Eso Doh Morrison.
