Former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD), Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has been granted GH¢50 million bail with three sureties, two to be justified, after his arrest by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over alleged financial and procurement-related offences.

Aboagye, who is also an aspiring National Communicator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was granted bail on Monday evening, July 13, 2026, following investigations into the alleged misappropriation of about GH¢55 million during his time at the IMCCoD.

He was arrested on Saturday evening at the Accra International Airport by officers of EOCO on an order issued by the EOCO.

According to investigators, a forensic audit into the operations of the IMCCoD uncovered suspected financial and procurement irregularities, leading to the ongoing investigations.

As part of the bail conditions, he is required to provide three sureties, with two of them expected to justify the bail by presenting verifiable assets or property equivalent to the bail amount.

EOCO’s investigations into the matter are ongoing.
