Accra, Ghana – June 29, 2025: EMY Africa launched its 10th Anniversary celebrations with an inspiring and high-energy event at the Labadi Beach Hotel, under the theme: “A Decade of Inspiring Greatness. A Future of Impact.”
The evening began with arrival and networking, bringing together some of Africa’s most influential voices in media, culture, governance, and business. Guests were welcomed by the Board Chairman of KGL Group, Mr Alex Dadey, who set the tone for a night that paid tribute to the past while unveiling a bold vision for the future.
In a soul-stirring opening performance, Perez Music captivated the audience before Kojo Soboh, Founder and CEO of EMY Africa, delivered a heartfelt speech tracing the organisation’s journey over the past decade — its origins, milestones, challenges, and triumphs. “This year, we relaunch EMY Africa for the future…,” he declared, signaling a new era for the brand.
This future was unveiled by Albert Chris Soboh, Chief Storytelling Officer and Editor-in-Chief, who introduced EMY Africa 2.0 — a refreshed brand identity anchored on new pillars aimed at deepening the brand’s impact across the continent and the diaspora.
“We are rebranding EMY Africa to reflect what it has truly become; a dynamic ecosystem of excellence, ambition and legacy.”
With this, he ushered in a new meaning of EMY Africa, from Exclusive Men of the Year to Evolve. Motivate. Yield.
The celebration continued with a musical interlude by Titi Owusu, reigning TGMA 2025 Female Vocalist of the Year, whose performance added a soulful note to the evening.
One of the night’s most anticipated moments came with the 10th Anniversary Itinerary Reveal — an exciting line-up of events for the year, presented through an engaging conversation between the CEO and CSO. Key highlights include:
- The Greatness Walk
- EMY Africa Expo
- Africa Rising Symposium (New York & London)
- EMY Africa Soirée (Johannesburg & Lagos)

The evening concluded with the official launch of the new EMY Africa Magazine issue. The Editor-in-Chief delivered a speech on the edition’s theme and notable features before handing over first copies to distinguished guests. The spotlight then turned to cover star Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay, who shared powerful reflections on legacy and purpose.
