Hello Mx24, I’m hoping my story gets featured real quick because I’m very frustrated and it’s kind of worrying my mental health. So I’m a young guy of 21 years in Knust. I do not come from a good home. My whole life my parents I’ve been struggling to take care of me and my 3 brothers. My mom has a provision shop and my dad is a Taxi driver. Growing I always saw my parents quarrel over small issues, when it gets very heated sometimes my dad beats up my mom. This was until I got to shs, by then I had some muscles enough to stop my dad from abusing my mom. I remember he once refused to give me money to school because I stood in his face and told him not to touch my mom during an argument they had.
We vacated from school about a month ago and just last week Tuesday I was in bathroom when I heard my dad beating my mum. This time around the screams from my mom were very loud and it got me furious. But I wanted to wash myself up and go to her rescue, I rushed to get my boxer and when I got to their room door the screams were no more, I checked their window to see what was happening and I saw my dad using his knee to strangle her until she died. I stood there in shock, my dad rushed out to call for help, pretending he didn’t know what had happen. Neighbors came around and the whole house was mourning, we are Muslims so she got hurried that same afternoon. I can’t stand it. I know what I saw. I don’t know what to do now, should I report my dad to the police or what? Who is going to take care of me and my younger brothers, I’m in Level 200 and I haven’t even finished paying off my fees for the year.
I’m confused because if I report him they will request for evidence which I don’t have and they will dismiss the case which will make my dad kick me out, on the other hand I feel my mom deserves JUSTICE. School has resumed too. Please what should I do??
