The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially extended an invitation to former President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A statement from the Presidency announced that a royal delegation, led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I, delivered the invitation during a courtesy visit to President Mahama in Accra on Monday.
The funeral is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
President Mahama expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Asantehene and the entire Asanteman on the passing of the revered Queen Mother, describing it as a significant loss. He assured the delegation of his commitment to attend the funeral and pay his final respects.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
