The Quest For Streaming Numbers Affecting Creativity – Camidoh

Camidoh has remained consistent with the quality of his music drops. Currently dominating with
one of the biggest songs at the moment, the ‘sugarcane’ crooner has stressed how the quest for
streaming numbers is affecting creativity in the industry.

In an industry where having the biggest song of the moment is hailed as success, Camidoh is
asking artistes to focus on their art and not streaming numbers. In his interview with Jason EL on
MX Live, Camidoh explained that being creative and securing longevity status did not come
from having the number one hit song.

“Creativity is what is in you, not what people are demanding for. As an artiste you know what
you can do well. There are certain artistes in this country who are really great artistes. On social media I see my name, Gyakie and Black Sheriff but that doesn’t mean we are the best.”

Camidoh stressed the need for artistes to find balance in creating songs that they actually want to
make and what trendy tune is currently selling.
