Sponsorship Continues To Decline For Creative Art Events – KOD

The 2022 edition of Rhythms on Da Runway is scheduled to come off on Sunday, November 20. The annual event running for 10 years continues to be a platform to showcase African fashion and music.

The “Green Edition” is expected to bring together creatives from the world of fashion, music, movies and other stakeholders from government. This year’s edition was launched as means to unite the African Diaspora through music and fashion.

Organizers of the show, Nineteen57, lamented over the lack of support from the private sector and how it is impacting on the show. Creative Founder of Nineteen57, Kofi Okyere Darko while appearing on Mx24’s AMClub said over the years sponsorship for the show has been declining.

“We have done ten editions in twelve years. We went off for two years because we were struggling with sponsorship. Going out and looking for sponsorship for an entertainment event is literally impossible. The name brands that used to support events like Rhythms on The Runway, they do not do it now.”

The event will take place on Sunday, November 20, at The Dome of the Accra International. The celebrity fashion show will feature designs from KOD’s Nineteen57 clothing line and other talented young designers from Ghana and some selected African countries.
