Sekondi-Takoradi MCE arrested for dangerous driving, alleged assault on police officer
The Metropolitan Chief Executive for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Abdul Mumin Issah, has been arrested by the Western Regional Police Command for an alleged for various traffic offences, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer.
The MCE has since been charged with three counts of assault of a public officer, offensive conduct of disturbing the peace in a public place contrary to Sections 205, 207 and 298 respectively, of the Criminal and Other Offences Act of 1960, Act 29.
He has also been charged with dangerous driving contrary to Section 1 of Act 683 of 2004 as amended by Act 761 of 2008.
On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Mr. Issah was allegedly recklessly driving a Toyota Landcruiser while approaching a police check point at the Kwesimintsim.
The MCE will be put before court on Friday, February 4, 2022.
