Mohammed Kudus as a false nine is an option for Ghana – Otto Addo

Ghana coach Otto Addo says he will be considering playing Mohammed Kudus as a false nine ahead of the upcoming friendly game against Brazil on Friday.

The 22-year-old is in fine form and is thriving in his new role as a false nine for Ajax this season. He netted for the fifth consecutive game in Ajax’s 2-1 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie last Sunday.

Kudus has scored six goals in his last five matches for ‘Sons of the Gods’ across all competitions.

“We have all kinds of ideas for so many players besides Kudus. [False nine] could be an option but there are so many other options for him,” coach Otto Addo said in his pre-match press conference.

“Surely we won’t talk about tactical things before our matches or before the World Cup but anything can happen.”

He added, “For me, it’s not a big surprise because we know him very well. I know him very well and I am just happy that he is now a part of the starting 11 at Ajax.”

Ghana will take on Brazil on Friday, September 23 in Le Harve before travelling to Spain to face Nicaragua on Tuesday, September 27 in Lorca.
