Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Warn Citizens Against Encroaching On State Lands And Properties

The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has strongly warned citizens against encroaching on state lands and properties, describing the act as a disservice to the nation.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a visit to Kumasi after reports that some individuals have encroached on ECG lands which may affect the supply of water and electricity.

“If immediate action is not taken to evict the encroachers and stop their activities, a quarter of the region could be without electricity and water supply,” Mrs Cecilia Abenaa Dapaah, the sector minister, who was paying a working visit to the encroached site at Adoato, noted.

The authorities, she said, should also take the necessary measures to cordon off the area to ward off prospective developers who might have acquired any part of the site for construction purposes.
