Met Gala 2022 – “In America: An Anthology Of Fashion “Gilded Glamour”

Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City. The event is open to industry paragons, creatives and celebrities. As to what exactly happens at Met Gala event, it remains unknown to non attendees as guests must abide by a no phone (and therefore no social media)policy during the event.

The Costume institute is hosted a two-part exhibition on the theme of American fashion during 2021 and this year, 2022. Part 1 being “In America: The Lexicon of Fashion”, opened in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and Part 2 being “In America: An anthology of Fashion “Gilded Glamour”.

The 2022 Met Gala took place last night the 2nd of May,2022 in New York City, celebrate second part of of the two-part Costume Institution exhibition. Both shows will be on display through to September 5,2022.

Themed “Gilded Glamour”, this year’s Met Gala was co-chaired by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Both shows will however be on display through to September 5,2022.

Like always, the event drew celebrities in their numbers and styles to grace the occasion. It was however indicated in an Instagram post by Met Gala, that the list was not 100% true and thus, must not be entirely believed. But, 80% – 90% of people mentioned were expected to be in attendance.

Guess they did not lie after all.

Adding the cherry to the top of the cake, music sensation, Rihanna who could not attend this year’s Met Gala somehow managed to steal the show with a Marble Statute of her mounted to honour her with a special tribute by The Metropolitan Musuem of Arts. Rihanaa took to her twitter page to thank the musuem and Vogue Magazine for this magnificent tribute
