Mad rush for diesel as tanker spills contents on Accra-Tema Motorway

There is a scramble for diesel this morning on the Accra-Tema Motorway, following the spillage of contents of a fuel tanker on the route.

The incident caused a slight vehicular traffic on the road as some individuals who lived around the area brought gallons and other containers to fetch the spilled fuel.

Some eyewitnesses told MX24 News the incident happened in the early hours of Friday, May 12 when the tanker somersaulted.

“I work around here, I have a farm here so I only heard a loud bang and I was told a car had somersaulted,” an eyewitness noted.

Meanwhile, one of the individuals seen fetching the spilled diesel said, ” I came to meet people fetching the fuel so I also came here to get some. I came from the Spintex road. I have one gallon of petrol now,” an eyewitness told MX24 News.
