Government donates 6 vehicles to some schools in the Northern Region

The Northern Regional Minister, Shani Alhassan Shaibu, on behalf of government has presented six pick-ups and a 65-seater bus to the Northern Regional Directorate of Education for onward distribution to six Senior High Schools in the region.

The beneficiary schools are Tamale Senior High School, Ghana Senior High School, Gushegu Senior High School, Kasuliyili Senior High School, Zabzugu Senior High School, and Tatale Senior High School.

Speaking to the media after a brief presentation of the vehicles, Mr. Shaibu said the donation is part of efforts to enhance easy movement and day-to-day running of the beneficiary schools.

“This donation of seven vehicles on Friday, 11 February 2022 at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council is made possible through the GETFUND initiative, and it seeks to enhance movement and activities of the beneficiary schools,” he said.

Mr. Shaibu also urged management of the beneficiary schools to keep the vehicles for the intended purpose and ensure proper maintenance of them.

“I appealed to the schools’ authority to be mindful of the maintenance of the vehicles to keep them in good condition, as this will extend the life span of the vehicles” the minister stated.

The Minister however assured that vehicles will be provided for other schools that do not have means of transportation.
